Guidelines
We are so pleased that as a member of Friends of Vincent Irizarry (FOVI), you chose to be a participant of our membership mailing list, FOVIPals, and/or a participant at the FOVI Delphi Forum Message Board. Since FOVI came into existence in the spring of 2000, we have grown into a group with close to 250 members. FOVIPals is a group mailing list, which was created as a place to obtain information (upcoming FOVI events, activities, Vincent’s fan appearances, and Vincent’s artistic endeavors), as well as to exchange thoughts and information with other FOVIPals members. One hundred twenty have subscribed to FOVIPals and are receiving messages as individual emails, in Daily Digest format, or on the Yahoo Groups’ website found at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FOVIPals/. These are some guidelines that, we, the Director and Management Team members, would like you to keep in mind when posting and answering messages at either or both forums. These will hopefully make all FOVI discussions a worthwhile experience, in the spirit of charity friendship and camaraderie as it was originally intended, while keeping you a part of our active FOVI "information loop". Fovi Posting Guidelines Please remember when posting or answering messages on FOVIPals message board/list: 1) Be polite and respectful of other posters. We want all posts to convey our FOVI spirit of charity, friendship and camaraderie. We also understand that differences add variety and spice to life. Please do not flame (attacks, personal insults, humiliating sarcasm, etc.) other list members or AMC cast members. This is inappropriate. We also ask that everyone's opinion be treated respectfully. 2) Be appropriate for ages and sensibilities. We have members of various ages and sensibilities on our list. Please avoid using any profanity or x-rated references. All messages and file attachments must be appropriate and not be considered offensive to anyone. We don't want to offend anyone, even if it is unintentional. 3) Avoid controversial issues. Everyone has different and sometimes passionate opinions about religion, politics, and other topics (e.g., David's best love interest) that might provoke controversy among our members. Please exercise caution and good judgment. Again, we don't want to offend anyone, even if it is unintentional. 4) Do not use this list as a substitute for private e-mail. If a message or response is intended or would be of interest to only one person, please use private e-mail. The message sender's email address appears along with FOVIPals@yahoogroups address on each message. Please use it to contact the person privately. 5) When starting a new thread on FOVIPals, or replying to an existing thread with new information, please change the subject line heading. Many people pick the messages they read by reading the subject line first. 6) Please do not forward jokes, stories or chain letters on FOVIPals, as this unduly increases the message traffic and the e-mail volume in everyone’s inbox. We recommend that any jokes or forwarded stories be shared via private e-mail. Under no circumstances should chain letters be forwarded under either medium. 8) Mr. Vincent Irizarry decides which charities and causes that FOVI will support. We would appreciate it if you do not solicit for your own individual charities, causes or businesses. FOVI will not contribute to individual members in need. You may contact members personally if you wish to solicit support, and those members can then choose whether or not to join in any support request. However, the FOVI Director or other FOVI Management Team members will not supply you with other members’ personal correspondence information. Response and Action to Inappropriate Posts and Behavior 1) The FOVIPals List is closely monitored on a daily basis by FOVI Management Team members. Any inflammatory or offensive postings and attachments will be removed at the Director's or Moderators’s discretion, with or without notice. Additionally, everyone has the right to e-mail the Director, the FOVIPal Moderator, or other members of the FOVI Management Team regarding any member they feel has written an inappropriate message or file attachment, and the matter(s) will be taken under advisement and review. 2) After review by the Directors, if it is decided that a member was inappropriate, he or she will receive one written warning via e-mail from the Director concerning his or her behavior. If a member who has been warned continues to send or post inappropriate materials or file attachments, he or she will be removed from the FOVIPals List and the member will not be eligible for reinstatement. The Director also reserves the right to revoke membership to FOVI, in accordance with the FOVI Terms of Service.
